The sky will light up with fireworks and Irvine’s sleepy, historic waterfront will shimmer into life this St Andrew’s Day as we celebrate the start of our four night art and light spectacular, illumination: Harbour Festival of Light.

Discover hundreds of brightly coloured origami boats and butterflies hand-crafted by international artists Aether & Hemera on our free illumination Trail along the River Irvine.

Marvel at breathtaking aerial acrobatics and an extraordinary light show in and around the vast Linthouse at the Scottish Maritime Museum.

Illumination Finale Dinner with Light & Aerial Art Spectacular

Dine at Puffers Cafe on the Harbourside looking out over the illumination lights before watching our closing firework display and taking in this year’s final illumination Light and Aerial Art Spectacular.

  • By road: From the A77 take the A71 and follow the brown VisitScotland road signs to the Museum or Harbourside. FREE parking at Irvine Beach car park. Scottish Maritime Museum, Irvine, North Ayrshire, Harbour Road KA12 8QE
  • By rail: The Museum and Harbourside are five minutes walk from Irvine Railway Station.
  • By sea: Visitors can moor at our pontoon in Irvine Harbour subject to availability and pre-booking.
